Tiburon Hiking Trails With the Best Views

Tiburon Hiking Trails With the Best Views

There is a new spot to enjoy our dramatic views of the San Francisco Bay in Tiburon! The Old St. Hilarys Preserve has been expanded on the hills above Tiburon and this spot is a must-do hidden gem for our Marin Hotels guests to explore.

Until a few weeks ago, the crown jewel of the Preserve at the end of the Tiburon Ridge was blocked off with fences and No Tresspassing signs. Due to the efforts of a coalition of local groups and local support (read more here), the space is now open for all to enjoy. The Views are spectacular!

Directions To Old St. Hilarys Preserve

Our favorite place to start is off of Heathcliff Drive in Tiburon, only a 5 minute drive from Waters Edge Hotel, and a few minutes more from Acqua Hotel and Mill Valley Inn. Pop Heathcliff Drive Tiburon into your GPS and find a place to park on the short residential street that leads to the trailhead.

Trail Conditions at Old St. Hilarys Preserve

Okay so this hike is not one of our beloved Best Flat Hikes in Marin! There are short steep ups and downs throughout the 1.8 mile out-and-back. The views allll the way are world-class so you will be taking lots of photos while you catch your breath.

The trails in the Preserve are well marked, and the surface is packed dirt. At this dry time of year before our rains begin, the trails tend to be dusty with loose rocks.

The Views at Old St. Hilarys

Let’s let the pictures do the talking!

We’ve always been fan of walking the trail during wildflower season, and now there will be 110 more acres of flowers to enjoy thanks to the new addition to the trail! More on the Marin Wildflower Hike here

See you out there!
